what to expect

initial enquiry

Reach out via the contact form or email. I will respond within two business days to arrange a brief introductory call.

Introductory call (no charge)

A 15-minute phone or video call to discuss what has brought you here, answer your questions, and explore whether this practice feels like the right fit.

First session

A 60-minute session to begin exploring your situation in depth. There is no pressure to commit to ongoing work after this session.

Ongoing therapy

If we both feel the fit is right, we establish a regular rhythm of sessions, typically weekly or fortnightly to begin with.

frequently asked questions

This is a private-pay practice. I do not offer Medicare rebates or bulk-billing.

Standard sessions are 60 minutes. For some clients and some kinds of work, 90 minute sessions are available and may be more appropriate. We can discuss what is right for you.

For most clients, weekly or fortnightly sessions are recommended in the early stages of therapy. As the work progresses, the frequency may change. The rhythm of our work will be determined by your needs, your circumstances, and what the therapy requires.

This is not a short-term, solution-focused practice. The work I offer is deep and relational, and it takes time. There are no set time limits, the work ends when it feels like it is genuinely complete.

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available for clients who are unable to attend in person, or who prefer the convenience and privacy of online therapy. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is not diminished by working online, many clients find it more accessible and comfortable.

The first session is primarily a conversation. I want to understand what has brought you here, what you are carrying, and what you are hoping for. It is also an opportunity for you to assess whether this practice feels like the right fit. There is no pressure to commit to ongoing work after a first session.

Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to this work. Everything discussed in sessions is strictly confidential, with the standard legal exceptions (risk of harm to yourself or others, and mandatory reporting requirements). Because this is a private-pay practice, there are no Medicare records and no GP referrals required - your privacy is fully protected.

I welcome a brief initial phone or video conversation before you commit to a first session. This is an opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether this practice feels right for you. There is no obligation and no cost for this initial conversation.

This practice focuses on individual adult therapy. I do not offer couples or family therapy. However, the work we do individually often has profound positive effects on relationships and family dynamics.
